Romanesque- and Angelsaxon Harps
This harptypes are the oldest in middle-europe. We do not know anything about there is a surviveing instrument from the periode 900-1300. Thes two types differ in: Romanesque harp is having a bowed neck, the Angelsaxon haro is having a straight neck. There are ilustrations in manusctripts from monasteriers, paintings like frescos in churches, as wellas reliefs and sculptures. A reconstruction might only be a approach. The early ilustrations have no clear perspective and not a lott details. Construction of soundbox we find in sculptures, we can use for. We have an idea about the construction and the number of strings. The musician which wants to use such an early instrument also is setting the details number of strings and height as well as range of keys by Arpademica suggestion.
